Introducing our newest Markerless Augmented Reality(AR) demo
on Android phones (Nexus One). ARShin-chang is AR resurrection of
Albert’s favorite cartoon character “Crayon Shin-chan (クレヨンしんちゃん).”

It’s our way of paying tribute  to late Yoshito Usui (臼井儀人), the creator
of Crayon Shin-chan. May you rest in peace, Mr. Usui.

Zenitum raises $1 million Series A for next generation augmented reality

Vision- and location-based augmented reality startup Zenitum raised $1 million in a Series A funding from Korea Technology Bank (KTB) Ventures in Seoul, Korea.

Since it’s inception in 2004, Zenitum has been conducting research in the areas of 3D reconstruction, marker- and markerless augmented reality, and video streaming.  The Zenitum team has been involved in providing custom software solutions in the Korean market, while also participating in research & development projects funded by the Korean government.

Augmented reality is a nascent technology that holds far greater promise than the current incarnations of AR solutions demonstrate.  In order to achieve that potential, a substantial amount of experimentation and pushing of boundaries will be necessary.  ”I want to create a company with the creative energy of Pixar,” says Albert Kim, Founder & CEO of Zenitum.
